Ms. Rebecca Laird nearly strangle Katie Howard (age 17) during the first period English class. Laird had" acting funny" in the morning, yelling at her students to" turn off the music" when according to all the students in the class there was no music playing. She became more and more agitated. When Howard tried to leave the room to find another teacher Laird attacked. It took four students to pin Laird to the ground. Howard is has been released from the hospital with a bruised trachea. Laird has been admitted to the behavioral health unit of the Biloxi regional medical center for observation.
