Being a mortal in a department of supernaturals makes work interesting. Cale and Swamp Bob are usually among the first responders to a call and waste no time diving into a case. Normally, mortals are sent off on coffee runs when things start to get wierd. Yet, Cale, as one of the most versatile beat cops on the force, often finds himself in the middle of many heady discussions of supernatural forces. Beyond just being in the right place at the right time, Cale has actually been helping move cases forward by finding key pieces of evidence.

Recently, Officer Qi Wukong invited Cale to join "The Network" as a full member of "The Secret Handshake Club." Beyond just being able to communicate with the rest of the group better while on a case, Cale's access to the Network seems to have augmented his own abilities of perception and investigation. Now, instead of contributing minor facts to a case, Cale seems to be pulling together major facts about cases.

There is talk that Cale may be looking for a "promotion" in the near future, but to date he has not put in any paperwork for the detectives' exam. Instead, Cale seems to be concentrating on specialized officers training by expanding his mundane skill set. Recently, Cale finished taking classes in EOD training (explosive objects demolitions).
